Jonathan D. Winters represents people facing serious harm and difficult disputes. His practice emphasizes mold and water damage, tenant habitability, and civil claims involving sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Jonathan has more than 25 years of legal experience. He opened his practice in 2001. His experience includes individual lawsuits, complex civil litigation, class actions, trials and appeals. He approaches difficult cases with careful preparation, persistence and a commitment to helping clients understand their options.
Experience in demanding litigation
Jonathan’s work includes a published tenant appeal, Hersey v. Vopava (2019), and a $1.8 million judgment following a bench trial in a civil case involving domestic violence and child sexual abuse. His experience also includes disability discrimination litigation against MTA and related individual cases.
His current tenant litigation includes a complex class action and related individual cases involving habitability, retaliation, harassment, asbestos, mold and construction nuisance.

Professional involvement
Jonathan is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). He earned his law degree at Western State University College of Law, holds a degree in biology, and earned a certificate after completing a trial-advocacy program through Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College. He has experience litigating in California state and federal courts.
